A woman who was unconscious in the quietude of a hospital room woke up to find herself in what could very well be the opening scene of a Black Mirror episode.
“What in the John Hancock was that?” she wrote in the caption of her video.
The woman revealed that the hospital was understaffed, but they had a solution for it: enter the virtual nurse.
This meant the TikToker wouldn’t have the soft shuffle of nurses next to her bed or see the nurses occasionally walk into the room and check up on her. She would instead have her digital nurse checking in on her while she’s on the road to recovery.
The woman was told that she would have a digital nurse because the hospital didn’t have enough staff members

“You guys, I don’t even know what’s happening at this point. I’m in my room at the hospital and they don’t have enough staff here. So they said ‘hey, just so you know, there’s a thing on the wall and it’s going to be your virtual nurse,” said the woman, who was admitted to the MercyOne Hospital in Mason City, Iowa, after suffering a stroke.
“The camera turned around and looked at us and then she was like, ‘how’s it going?’” the woman shared.
Although the digital presence came out of nowhere, the TikToker said she was “actually impressed.”
“What in the Black Mirror?” one person asked while another added, “Ask her if she can help you walk to the bathroom.”
Another wrote, “We are ALLLLLL leaving bedside… buckle up for the future.”
“What happens if you code? Does maintenance come in and the virtual nurse talks him through it?” another said.
One worried user added, “They will pay for that technology but wont pay their nurses. Omg. i am so worried.”
People who saw her video are convinced that it’s now time to prepare ourselves for the future
The TikToker also shared another video where she said she was convinced that the virtual nurse is a way for the other hospital staff to listen in on them.
She explained that she and her mother had a conversation inside the room that the (real) nurses had no way of hearing. The TikToker then went on to say that a nurse later walked in and made a reference to the same conversation she and her mother privately had.
It’s “just a way of them listening to you in the room while they’re not in here,” she said. You May Like"I’m Afraid To Fly": Two Planes Collide Mid-Air In Arizona Days After Toronto Crash LandingLei RVDisney Worker Downloads Free AI Tool—Loses Job And $200,000 BonusesLei RV“Call Me Lazy”: Mother, 34, Stuns With Ozempic Transformation And Side EffectKarina Babenok
