Caribbean webcomics humor: Grim Reaper in therapy session with a worried purple character, discussing inadvertent harm.

We reached out to the cartoonist and asked them to tell us more about ‘Caribbean Webcomics.’ Here’s what we learned about how the series began: “I’ve always been a fan of newspaper comics and comic books, and always wanted to create a version of my own.” Then, the artist continued, sharing more about the recurring themes in their comics: “For my webcomic ‘Puttong,’ for example, I try to depict life here in the Caribbean, more specifically Trinidad and Tobago, where I’m from. For my other webcomic ‘Teef Hed,’ I try to make relatable stuff funny.”

When asked about how they come up with ideas for new comics, the author of the series responded: “I get my ideas based upon childhood experiences. Sometimes even from zany ideas that come to mind, I even try to be a little bit inspirational at times.”

Next, we were curious about the artist’s personal favorite cartoon they’ve created so far. Here’s what we found out: “Hmmm, that’s a hard one. If I had to say, it would probably be the Beautiful Monster storyline I did in Teef Hed. It captures the challenges we all face in this time of social media especially.”
