Sam Asghari has revealed that he harbors no bitterness towards pop icon Britney Spears after he filed for divorce from her last year, citing irreconcilable differences.
The Iranian model and fitness trainer, who celebrated his 30th birthday on March 3, said he would never talk badly about Britney and sees their marriage as a “chapter of [his] life.”
“It was a blessing to be able to share life with someone for a long time. And people grow apart, and people move on,” Sam toldPeople.
“I’ve always hated people leaving a certain relationship — and at some point, they told each other they love each other and they sat at the same table and ate food [together] — so I never understood when people part ways [and] they talk badly about each other,” he continued. “That’s something I’m never going to do because I had nothing but an amazing experience and a great life, and that’s always going to be part of my life, a chapter of my life.”
Sam and Britney met in 2016 after the former was cast to play the singer’s love interest in the music video for her song Slumber Party.
The twoexchanged wedding vowsin June 2022 in what became Britney’s third marriage.

TheToxic singerfirst married her childhood friend Jason Alexander in 2004 in a spur of events that Britney described as a drunken mistake.
“As a twentysomething will do after a few drinks, I wound up in bed with one of my friends — a childhood friend who I’ve known forever,” she wasquotedwriting in her book.
“The third night we were together, he and I got s—faced. I don’t even remember that night at all, but from what I’ve pieced together, he and I lounged around the hotel room and stayed up late watching movies — Mona Lisa Smile and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre – then had the brilliant idea of going to A Little White Chapel at three thirty in the morning. When we got there, another couple was getting married, so we had to wait. Yes – we waited in line to get married.” she continued.
Their marriage lasted for less than three days, and Britney eventually had their marriage annulled.
“People have asked me if I loved him. To be clear: he and I were not in love. I was just honestly very drunk — and probably in a more general sense at the time in my life, very bored,” the singer added.
The same year, she got married to her former backup dancer,Kevin Federline, who is the father toher two sons,Sean Preston, 17, and Jayden James. The pair split in 2007.
In April 2022, while Sam and Britney were still together, the couple announced that they wereexpecting their first childtogether. However, they revealed that the singer suffered a pregnancy loss about a month later.
Samfiled for divorceon Aug. 16 last year, and he reportedly listed his date of separation from Britney as July 28, 2023.

Britney spokeabout the separation to her followers in August last year and said she was a little shocked but has been “playing it strong.”
“As everyone knows, Hesam and I are no longer together … 6 years is a long time to be with someone so, I’m a little shocked but … I’m not here to explain why because its honestly nobody’s business !!! But, I couldn’t take the pain anymore honestly !!!” she wrote onInstagram.
Earlier this year, a source claimed that Sam was promised $1 million for every two years of their marriage in their prenuptial agreement. However, Sam now hopes to walk away from the marriage with more, the source said.
“She feels Sam is playing the ‘Mr. Britney Spears’ card for everything it’s worth,” the source toldOK!“She finds it kind of pathetic.”
“The exact amount he wants is being kept confidential, but he’s not happy with what Britney and her team have proposed,” the source added.
The source also said that things have become more complicated than they initially thought.
“Sam isn’t hurting for cash, but he’s willing to dig in and fight for the extra money he feels he deserves,” the source said.

Sources toldTMZthat Sam often complained about the singer becoming physically violent and having fights where security had to intervene. On one occasion, Britney began punching Sam while he was sleeping in their bed, one source claimed.
A report from last year also said Britney was spotted in a California restaurant being “manic” and yelling gibberish while Sam was visibly upset, according to eyewitnesses who spoke toTMZ.
The sources also claimed that Sam stormed off, leaving Britney alone at the restaurant before she, too, eventually left without paying the bill. Her bodyguard later came back to the restaurant to pay.
Months after filing for divorce from thePiece of Me singer, Sam said in his recent interview with People that he’s now focusing on maintaining a “healthy lifestyle.”
“I used to think people that were 30 years old were so old when I was in high school. But every person I talk to, the older they get, the more they get to enjoy life because with age comes wisdom and experiences,” he said. “And I think experiences in life are beautiful, so that’s something that I’m just super excited to just be fulfilled with.”
“I always have the most positive mindset about life. My experiences in life have shaped me into the man I am today. I will continue growing. I come from a place where we celebrate our past,” he added. “I look back fondly. My past was a blessing and beautiful.”
