And recently the population in the house has increased – one of the author’s sons and his wife moved in with them, in order to save money for their family budget.
Moreover, more than once or twice it has happened that the mom cooked some kind of food – it didn’t matter, spaghetti or cake – went to work, and when she returned, she and her daughter discovered that the relatives had either eaten everything clean or left them very little. By the way, this situation also infuriated the daughter as well.
So the woman decided from now on to plate everyone’s food, and to label the leftovers, too, in order for everyone to have their fair part. The daughter took this idea literally with delight, but the son and daughter-in-law, on the contrary, were massively indignant and both got absolutely dramatic, calling the OP a huge jerk. Well, this is indeed a fairly typical problem for young people who live under the same roof with their parents, and, according toofficial statistics, there are more such adult children in the United States for the first time since WWII.
