We are a passionate couple of photographers who document abandoned places around the world, always with our meaningful yellow jackets! The love for what is left of what once was brought us together, as we both already photographed abandoned places before we met. The coats have a very special symbology.Yellow refers to light - the essence of photography. It is an extremely creative, warm and joyful color in itself. It contrasts a lot with these places, typically sad and lifeless… Yellow gives them somehow a new life!

The interest in this concept led us to discover entire villages completely abandoned, as well as historic properties in the busy streets of large urban centers. The project aims to make known these places that the majority of the population knows - but at the same time doesn’t, calling for the preservation of the built heritage that still remains. We also want everyone to realize that there is a world to discover, we need to keep getting out of our comfort zone and believe in love and friendship!Everyone who knows us knows how passionate we are about these places and about feelings! People keep giving us locations saying “This would be cool for the yellow jackets!”

The tunnel had a line and some sort of minecart, probably to transport material from the factory. We had to walk all the way with lanterns as it was super dark inside!

At this point, we were already fascinated with the place.

When we crossed the tunnel to the other side, we couldn’t believe what we found! We immediately started seeing old cars everywhere! And when we started walking, we realized that we were only seeing the ground floor, there was a first floor made of wood which was also full of classic cars!We thought we were “just” about to explore a factory and we ended up finding a place full of old cars! And inside an industrial building, it’s not common at all, we had never found something like this before! The car’s doors were all unlocked, so we could look at the interior of them! The cars were in really good condition, no signs of vandalism or robberies. They only had the signs of the time passage, which made them even more special for us and for our photography! The factory itself was also really old and some parts of the first floor were already collapsing - it was scary to see the holes under the cars! We couldn’t stop thinking that they could fall to the ground floor, with us together!

We spent almost all day inside the factory, and it still was hard to find time to photograph all the cars! We didn’t know at all what we were about to find when we entered, so we didn’t calculate how long it would take us to shoot there. There were more than 50 cars, some quite old. We think the oldest one must be from the early 1930s. This has to be one of our favorite explorations ever!In addition to being extremely unusual to find abandoned cars in an industrial space of this type, one of the things we liked most about this place was the architecture! The feeling of going through that old dark tunnel and starting to find all these old beauties is indescribable!
