Abandoned chateau in the forest
An abandoned amusement park left behind in Japan
For some, old andabandoned locationsare sort of like driving past a car crash, most of us will at least look, but for some, it’s a fascination. Generally, the things we see are representations of when everything goes right. Abandoned and broken things are the fail state, something less commonlyfoundout there.

The enchanting and abandoned castle Sammezzano. A masterpiece of oriental architecture in the heart of Tuscany, Italy
After all, when someone says they are into urban exploration, we tend to understand that as investigating old, mostlyunused buildings, not just walking around a city. While some part of urban exploration is just a desire for adrenaline, as these locations are generally closed for a reason, it is still very human to want to discover something new and unseen.
This beautiful castle somewhere in Italy is abandoned for several years. There are many ghost stories were the local people are talking about but the previous owner lived here happily until he died of old age. This dining room was my favorite room of this amazing castle

This could have happened in China, but it happened in Turkey. More than five hundred nearly-indentical castles appear to be copied and pasted into this Turkish hillside but not a soul lives there. Developers meant for these uniform villas to be luxury vacation homes for healthy tourists when they began construction in 2014. However, when the company went bankrupt in 2018, investitors pulled out of the deal which put constuction on hold.
Abandoned presidents busts that stand 20+ feet tall. These president heads started as an attraction called Presidents Park in Williamsburg, Virginia. The park was an open-air museum where people strolled among the heads, gazing at the enormous size of them. But a lack of visitors caused the park to close just six years after opening in 2004. Instead of allowing the busts to be demolished, Howard Hankins, who helped construct the park, claimed all 42 heads and lugged them back to his private family farm for safekeeping until someone could think of what to do with them. With each bust weighing 22,000 pounds, it took nearly a week to move them all just a few miles to the large field where they now sit, and some of the heads sustained minor damage to the backs of their heads and noses. You’ll find every president here today (excluding Obama, Trump, and Biden) on his farm rotting away exposed to the elements of nature

A trip to a past time. This old villa felt like something out of a fairytale when we stepped into this room. It was completely dark inside at first, but when we illuminated it with our phone light, I realized what we had found. We managed to open the window revealing the original furniture, and some beautiful frescos. You don’t see bedding or architecture like this now days, it had almost a royal feel to it
When I first saw pictures of this place, I thought it was an old castle. I recently came to find out that it’s actually a deserted green house that was part of an estate left behind in the Italian countryside. Watching the bright colors of the sun sink below the horizon here was one of my favorite memories from this trip
Six flags New Orleans is an abandoned amusement park in Louisiana, USA. When hurricane Katrina struck in 2005, it devastated the entire city of New Orleans. This amusement park in particular was left submerged in water for weeks. When the water receded, it left the entire park past the point of repair. 17 years later you’ll find everything left behind, and an abundance of wild life roaming the park. In the end, nature always wins

This villa was hidden among the farm lands in Italy. After looking around for a while, we navigated our way around the property and managed to find an open door. As we walked in we were greeted with these beautiful frescoes, and some of the most beautiful artwork I’ve seen while exploring abandoned places. I could’ve shot this room all day
