Bored Pandareached out to Jordi to learn more about him and his work.“I’m Jordi Koalitic, a photographer from Navas, Barcelona. My interest in photography sparked during my love for cinema at 18. After two intensive summers of work, I bought my first camera, a Canon 6D, and began experimenting with photography and video. It wasn’t until three years ago, with the launch of my Instagram account, that I started taking photography seriously. My initial interest was to dominate the technique (light, composition, colors…) Over time, the need to consider the concept behind the image and to tell a story became more important,” shared Jordi.

Creativity plays a significant role in Jordi’s photography and videography. Therefore, we asked Jordi to share an instance where he faced a creative challenge and how he overcame it.“There have been instances where creative challenges pushed me to think outside the box. One memorable experience involved the limitations of my resources and the lack of post-production knowledge. Instead of viewing these constraints as obstacles, I turned to everyday objects to create the illusion of complexity. This approach not only overcame the challenge but also became a defining element of my unique photography style,” wrote Jordi.

Jordi’s photography often involves intricate planning to achieve complex shots. We asked the photographer to walk us through his typical creative workflow, from conceptualization to execution, and how he manages to consistently produce unique content for his audience.“My creative workflow is a crucial aspect of my work. It typically starts with conceptualization, where I consider the story I want to tell. From there, I typically take ordinary objects and transform them into impactful visual elements, using them to convey a compelling story or concept. The planning phase is meticulous, ensuring every detail contributes to the overall impact. When it comes to execution, precision is key. I strive to capture the shot in-camera, minimizing reliance on post-production. This process allows me to consistently deliver visually striking content that resonates with my audience,” explained Jordi.

Jordi also shared what he would like for people to take away from his photography: “I hope people take away a sense of inspiration and creativity from my content. I want to show that powerful images can be created from the simplest and most accessible elements of everyday life. Whether it’s a bottle of water, a shoebox, or a piece of glass, I aim to encourage others to find beauty and tell compelling stories in their immediate surroundings.”
And lastly, Jordi added: “To all the readers, I’d like to express my gratitude for your support. Embrace the simplicity around you, and don’t be afraid to experiment and push the boundaries of conventional photography. The creative process is a journey, and every challenge is an opportunity to discover something new. Keep exploring, keep creating, and most importantly, enjoy the artistic adventure!”
