Probably one of the most viral videos about Millie & Milo was their first taste ofThanksgivinglast year. A shortfunnyclip showing the furry calves running towards tiny pumpkin pies and then licking up the creamy whipped topping received over 8.5 million views on TikTok.
While most of us would be under the impression that cows only eat such things like hay, grass, and cattle feed, these two cuties seem to have a more varied diet and people were seemingly unable to resist such an adorably cute andunusual moment.
“Aw, they look like teddy bears, especially the one with black ears,” another one noted.
The adorable calves seem to be really spoiled in Marriah and Kenny’s home and are definitely living their best lives there.
“First they steal your heart. Then they cause as much chaos as possible,” Marriah shared and noted that the calves adore their weekly spa treatments, cuddling and kissing time as well as running races around and chewing everything that they can find on their way.
“It’s their world, we’re just living in it,” the woman added.
Yet the world of miniature Highlands is way more complex than it may appear from the charm of their fluffy appearance.
Highland cattle, with their captivating long horns and beautiful furry coats, have been associated with Scotland’s rugged landscape for centuries.
Their roots can be found back in the 6th century, originating in the Scottish Highlands and Western Isles. Also known as ‘kyloes’ in Gaelic, they were bred to to be able to survive in the truly harsh climate and unforgiving terrain of their native land.
Due to the breed’s adaptability, now Highland cattle can be found in various parts of Europe, North and South America, and Australia.
When it comes to Mini Highland cattle, they have been developed through decades of continued selective breeding.
There was a very special bond between Millie and Milo since the first day they met
According toRanchr, people should be aware that not all Mini Highlands are created equally: while some may simply be younger or smaller examples of standard Highland cattle, others might be the result of questionable breeding practices.
Speaking of breeding, if it isn’t done properly, Mini Highlands may have somehealthissues such as skeletal abnormalities, digestive issues or reduced cold tolerance compared to standard Highlands.
Mini Highlands may also require specialized veterinary care and finding such a vet who has experience with miniature cattle breeds could definitely be a challenging task in some areas.
While more and more people are becoming obsessed with Mini Highlands due to such stories as Millie & Milo, it’s very important to keep a balance of enthusiasm and responsibility.
Having realistic expectations and understanding the commitment involved in caring for thesemesmerizinganimals will bring not only joy for the owner, but also the care and respect they deserve.
