We were curious to know if Scott had ever created a comic that unexpectedly resonated with his audience or went viral. Here’s what he shared with us: “Yes. Sometimes I put out a comic thinking it’s just okay and it’s a huge hit. And there are other times when I really love a comic and it totally flops. You never know for sure.”RELATED:Metzger shared with us which of his cartoons turned out to be his personal favorite: “One that was a lot of fun to make was the parody of Only Murders in the Building. It was calledOnly Birders in the Buildingand showed a bunch of cats in an apartment building looking out their windows at birds. Drawing the apartment building and recreating the New Yorker font took some time, but it was fun to do.”Next, the artist shared that some ideas he initially loved for new strips were later scrapped because they just didn’t work as comics. He elaborated: “Usually song parodies that are too wordy or too obscure.”Lastly, we wanted to find out if there were any fellow artists Scott would like to collaborate with in the future. The cartoonist responded: “The first one who comes to mind is Lucas Turnbloom, who drew the comic ‘How to Cat.’ He knows cats well and is hilarious. I don’t know what we’d do, but I know it would be fun.”See Also on Bored Panda
