Nowadays, the artist recognizes a significant Calvin & Hobbes influence in his comics, and some people have even pointed out a resemblance in style. Another major influence for him was Natalie Dee, whom he discovered in his early 20s. Natalie Dee’s humor inspired him to kickstart his own daily comic. “She cracked me up!”
Dylan has a knack for turning negative experiences into more positive and beautiful moments, not just for himself but also for others. Whether he’s doing it on purpose or without thinking much, making art like creating comics or playing guitar and writing songs helps him express his worries, fears, and past tough times. According to the artist, sharing this creative side feels really satisfying, especially when people tell him that his art means a lot to them or makes them feel better. “I can’t ask for anything more rewarding than that.”
“There are a lot of crazy things going on in this world right now and it can be easy to feel discouraged and down. If I can help even just a little bit to put smiles on people’s faces all over the world, I’m damn sure going to do it.”
