I was in a relationship, so I had the idea to create a comic about the daily life of my boyfriend (now husband) and I, both to entertain readers and to record funny moments in our lives. We have very different careers—I do art while my boyfriend was a software engineer. I thought this could be an interesting contrast and named us ‘IT Guy & Art Girl.'”

When it comes to developing ideas for her comics, Bonnie usually draws inspiration from their everyday interactions. “Not really,” she said about collaborating with her IT guy. “I usually take inspiration from our interactions and turn them into comics. After creating this webcomic for a while, sometimes after a funny moment, IT Guy could suggest that I should turn it into a comic.”
Deciding which moments to feature involves selecting those that evoke a strong reaction. “I would choose moments that made us laugh or feel deeply,” Pang explained. “Also moments that I think will make readers laugh or feel touched. Sometimes, it’s the interesting contrasts between an art person and an IT person. And then there are also memorable life events such as getting married, receiving awards, and going on trips. We adopted a cat some time ago, and pets have become a regular topic in my comics since then.”
